Velora is built to help people understand selected text without collecting more information than the product needs.
Effective date: April 28, 2026
No sale of personal data
Velora does not sell your personal information.
Selected text only
Summaries are based on the text you choose to send.
Server-side keys
API keys stay on the server, not inside the browser extension.
This policy explains how Velora handles information when you use the website, create an account, or use the browser extension.
Information Velora Processes
Velora processes the text you choose to summarize, your summary and vocabulary settings, and basic account information if you create an account. The extension is designed to work from selected text rather than reading an entire page by default.
How Information Is Used
Selected text is used to generate a clear summary or explanation. Account information is used to support sign-in and optional saved settings.
What Velora Does Not Do
Velora does not sell personal data, does not use selected text for advertising, and does not ask for more information than is needed to provide the reading experience.
Third-Party Services
Velora may use trusted service providers such as OpenAI for summary generation, Clerk for accounts, and hosting providers to operate the website. These providers process information only as needed to support the service.
Data Retention
Velora does not intentionally store selected page text in its own database. Account information is retained while your account is active or until you ask for removal.
Your Choices
You can choose what text to summarize, sign out of your account, or contact Velora to request account-data removal.
Questions or removal requests
Contact Velora if you have questions about this policy or want to request account-data removal.
